Stream Of The Week: Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: The Complete Epic Series
Need some classic Sci-Fi in your life? Try “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” an ’80s Sci-Fi TV show loosely based on the classic comic strip of the same name. As a kid, I loved the show. Looking back now, the special effects were quite cheesy and the dialog left a stale taste in my mouth, but overall, it wasn’t that bad of a show. If you feel like reliving your childhood or seeing what Sci-Fi was like for television post “Star Wars,” and pre CGI, give good old Buck Rodgers a stream.

I’m 50 years old.
I have a black sash in kung fu and a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude. I can beat up a mugger and then zealously defend him at his criminal trial.
My first date was taking a girl to see “Star Wars” on its original theatrical release. It was the second time I saw the movie. I still consider Carrie Fisher to be one of the most gorgeous women ever captured on film.
Among the comics in my Marvel Silver Age collection, I own 2 copies each of “The Incredible Hulk” #180 and #181 with the first-ever cameo and full issue appearances of Wolverine. I own an actual shooting script of the last episode of Star Trek TOS, “Turnabout Intruder” used on the set in 1969. I own hardback editions of Frank Herbert’s “Dune” series, Robert Howard’s “Conan” series, Michael Moorcock’s “Elric” series, Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” series and Tolkien’s “LOTR” and “The Hobbit.”
I met my wife online. Halfway through dinner on our first date, she asked, “Do you like… Star Trek.” I said, “I went to my first convention in ‘76.” We were married with a son before the year was out. He started learning how to spell at 3 years old by typing “Spongebob” into search engines on his mother’s laptop. His current favorite music is William Shatner’s new album, “Seeking Major Tom.” We have to search his backpack every morning to ensure he isn’t sneaking a phaser to school.
My wife and I actually argue over her Star Trek Original Series purism and my embrace of all things Star Trek. But we both love the 2009 movie.
We are Trekkers, not Trekkies.
